Economic Catastrophe Unfolds: Why Every Bank in America is Bankrupt

By Wayne Allyn Root

We are now facing the worst economic disaster in history – worse even than the Great Depression. I’ve warned for two years now that the real estate picture is far worse than most Americans understand. The foreclosure disaster we’ve seen is only the tip of the iceberg. At the moment, 30% of all mortgages across the country are underwater. The so-called “shadow inventory” (homes in foreclosure or far behind on payments) is already 11 million homes and growing. And millions of additional homes will soon fall into foreclosure.

Yet the bigger disaster is the commercial real estate market. Banks have been hiding this tragedy by extending loans on properties that are no longer worth ten cents on the dollar. Many commercial properties have lost most or all of their tenants, and haven’t made mortgage payments in months, if not years. Yet by extending the loans, banks have hidden the disaster unfolding on their books. Make no mistake, commercial real estate loans – shopping centers, malls, strip malls, office buildings – will face foreclosure in unimaginable numbers over the next 5 years. Each new wave will cripple the U.S. economy more. [more...]

Sign of the Apocalypse: ‘Jackass 3D’ Tops the Box-office

By James Hirsen

This weekend featured two wide release debuts, “Jackass 3D” and “Red,” both of which, prior to hitting theater screens, had experts predicting the flicks wouldn’t do so well at the box-office. “Jackass 3D” was causing jitters because of its dim-bulb reality show mentality. “Red” was making execs nervous because of the older demographic of the cast and potential audience. A lot of folks thought the promos for the “Jackass 3D” movie were some kind of satirical video footage that had been created by renegade YouTube filmmakers. Then came the shock when it turned up as the #1 film in America. [more...]

Obama Siding with Muslims on Ground Zero is Costing the Dems

By Larry Klayman

The dastardly scheme and now reality of building a mosque just one block from Ground Zero was crazy and evil enough, given the pain that New Yorkers and the nation as a whole have experienced since 9/11. Add to that the irrefutable fact that the imam of this planned outrage is an American agent who works for the Obama State Department, going on taxpayer-funded junkets around the world to spread the word of “Muhammad” and “Allah,” that donors to his congregation have given to the Holy Land Foundation, a convicted terrorist front group, and that this same imam, Feisal Rauf, blamed the United States for causing 9/11 shortly after the tragedy occurred, and we see the curtain rising on this “Theatre of the Absurd,” radical Muslim style. But now that this curtain has risen and we are able to view the “first act,” thanks to the lawsuit my brave client, severely wounded first responder Vinnie Forras, brought to “Unmasque the Mosque,” this existential tragic-comedy takes on new bizarre and troubling dimensions with each passing day. Kids Aren’t Cars; Schools Aren’t Factories

By Kyle Olson

The industrial assembly-line model of America’s public schools created decades ago isn’t working.  In fact, it’s setting us further and further behind our global competitors. Today, it is essential that our children graduate high school and college prepared for the fierce competition they will face in the global marketplace.  Their economic survival will be determined by their ability to compete with countries like China, India, and other emerging economies. This requires that our public schools be innovative and effective.  Instead, our schools are using a failed, one-size-fits-all approach to education that may actually end up hurting our children. It’s interesting that our slide began in the 1970s.  Just ten years earlier, collective bargaining, the crowning glory of labor unions, took root in our public schools. Coincidence? [more...]

Miners Grateful Obama is Not Their President

By Joy Tiz

It’s foolish for a Democrat to invoke Obama’s name in any context that recalls the rescue of the Chilean miners. Republicans, however, should never miss an opportunity to make comparisons between the U.S. President and the pro-capitalism Sebastian Pinera.  President Pinera was on scene and engaged from Day One of the mining disaster.  As opposed to Obama, who ignored the BP oil spill until sometime around Day Nine. The Chilean president welcomed assistance from foreign countries, including the United States and Israel.  To his credit, Obama must have granted NASA an interlude from their primary mission – reaching out to the Muslim world. President Pinera also didn’t appear on TV constantly denigrating the mining company or shaking down its upper management.  Nor did he order an immediate moratorium on all mining. [more...]
