The Progressive Model of Tax & Spend is Dead – Even in New York

By Wayne Allyn Root

It’s amazing to me that there are still a few people in America pushing the dinosaur called “the progressive agenda.” How can anyone demand bigger government, more services, higher spending, and higher taxes in the middle of a financial Armageddon? That’s not a progressive agenda; it’s a bankruptcy agenda. The proof is found in my old home state of New York, and my new adopted home state of Nevada. There is a dramatic and truly amazing lesson developing right now in New York. The newly elected Governor of New York is Democrat Andrew Cuomo, the son of one of the heroes of big government “tax and spend” liberalism – former New York Governor Mario Cuomo. Yet this new and improved Cuomo refuses to raise taxes one cent. He is demanding a “radical shift” in the way New York is run (headline quoted from the liberal New York Times). That “radical shift” is built around the idea of dramatic cuts in services, smaller government, far fewer government employees and agencies, and reigning in public employee unions. [more...]

The New Ground Zero Mosque Imam Selection Rubs More Salt Into the Wound

By Joseph Klein

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is out as the religious face of the Park 51/Cordoba House mega mosque community center complex proposed to be built near Ground Zero. Rauf became too radioactive for the project’s developers, so he was pushed aside. Despite efforts by some apologists to defend this faux moderate, the evidence of his true stealth jihad agenda was overwhelming. Therefore, to keep moving ahead with their Ground Zero mosque project, the developers turned to Shaykh Abdallah Adhami as Rauf’s replacement. This is just like rubbing more salt into the wound. All that the new imam represents is a different mask hiding the same radical Islamist agenda. [more...]

On Getting Sidetracked by Tucson

By Robert Ringer

Even if Loughner, the killer, had been a tea party person or a member of a rightwing paramilitary outfit… or had openly stated that he was a rabid Rush Limbaugh fan… or, yes, even if he had claimed that Sarah Palin’s target map inspired him to commit murder, it would have been irrelevant. The fact is that Loughner is a mentally ill person, and just about anything can set off someone who has severe mental problems. I would guess that such films have pushed far more lunatics over the edge than the most vile political rhetoric. So, when conservatives argue that the murderer had no connection to conservative politics, they are allowing themselves to once again be sucked into the liberals’ false-premise trap. It’s the wrong argument. Both liberals and conservatives have a right to say whatever they please, because it’s (supposed to be) a free country. [more...]

World’s Deadliest Metaphors

By Joy Tiz

CNN has managed to make itself even duller than it already was. John King actually apologized for a guest’s use of the now verboten term, “crosshairs.”  Henceforth, all discussions of politics will be limited to approved verbiage.  During the next heated election, we shall find ourselves riveted when we are told that Ohio and Florida are “states with large numbers of electoral votes which tend to have similar numbers of ballots cast on both sides.” [more...]
