The Most Dangerous Place in the World is Between the Teachers Unions and the Public Trough

By Kyle Olson

The American public education system is going the way of the auto companies and just like the $17.4 billion American taxpayers forked over to bail out outrageous employee contracts and spineless spending decisions of management, labor unions are hoping their allies in Congress will throw them a lifeline. The difference, of course, is that prior to the bailout, those private sector companies could actually go bankrupt – no one was “too big to fail.”  There was an invisible mechanism that prevented labor from pushing too far because while it’s greedy, even the UAW knew that there would be a limit to the pay and bennies it could extract from the auto manufacturers.  In that instance, the parasite knew when to stop sucking. Household Economics?

By Dave Bego

Considering the President’s misguided experiment with social engineering through the support of forced unionism, his total lack of experience with finances (since much of his education and training were paid for by others), and absence of any executive experience in the private sector, is it really surprising he has no clue how to run a business or fix the economy? He likes to cite Keynes’ theory, but only as it relates to his desire to expand the welfare state and to the extent his limited financial background allows him to understand its true dynamics. Margaret Thatcher’s quote is a mystery to him: “The problem with spending other people’s money is that you eventually run out of it!” [more...]

Faisal Shahzad’s Truth Exposes Obama’s Treachery

By Joy Tiz

Times Square bomber, Faisal Shahzad is one of the few Jihadis who has been truthful about his motivations.  His terrorist colleagues generally concoct outlandish fabrications to explain their behavior, endearing them to Obama and Holder’s justice department which has deemed Islamic terrorism non-existent. Obama: The Great Jobs Killer

By Wayne Allyn Root

The current occupant of the White House claims to know how to create jobs. He claims jobs have been created. But so far, the score is Great Obama Depression: 2.2 million lost jobs / Obama – 0 – a blowout. Obama is as hopeless, helpless, clueless and bankrupt of good ideas as the manager of the Chicago Cubs in late September. This “community organizer” knows as much about private sector jobs as Pamela Anderson knows about nuclear physics. It’s time to call Obama what he is – “the great jobs killer.” With his massive spending and tax hikes – rewarding big government and big unions, while punishing taxpayers and business owners – Obama has killed jobs, he has killed motivation to create new jobs, he has killed the motivation to invest in new businesses, or expand old ones. As far as the taxpayers – the people that actually take risks with our own money, to create small businesses, and jobs, and pay most of the taxes – we now require protection under the Endangered Species Act. Federal Judge Overturns Obama Moratorium On Deep Water Drilling

By Tim Connolly

Obama temporarily halted all drilling in waters deeper than 500 feet on May 27 to give a presidential commission time to study improvements in the safety of offshore operations. More than a dozen Louisiana offshore service and supply companies sued U.S. regulators to lift the ban. U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman granted a preliminary injunction, halting the moratorium. Government lawyers told Feldman that ban was based on findings in a U.S. report following the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon rig off the Louisiana coast in April; experts that formulated the report have disputed the administration’s claims and have stated that the moratorium was added to their findings AFTER THEY PUBLISHED THE REPORT AND WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION. G-19: The U.S. Stands Alone

By Bill Glynn

Greece’s debt was over 120% of GDP when it hit a brick wall.  The U.S. debt is now over 90% of GDP.  While other nations around the world have mountains of debt, too, the U.S. economy is seen as able to sustain its debt levels and continue to be able to finance more deficit spending. Well, it was clear from the G-19 members that the U.S. stands alone in this assumption. The administration pushed hard for the rest of the world to continue to borrow and spend to assure the global economic recovery is sustained.  But the U.S. has signaled through Timothy Geithner that America won’t be able to take on the burden of carrying the rest of the world on our back anymore.  So, the world is undergoing tax hikes and spending reduction while we trumpet more stimulus that hasn’t worked already. The recovery is fragile at best and I do expect a dip coming.  The “double dip” we are already teetering on looms and the plan is to borrow our way out of it and flood the market with more of our currency.  This is a recipe for disaster. ‘Twilight’ Reveals Vampire-Style Traditional Values

By James Hirsen

“Eclipse,” the latest installment in the phenomenal “Twilight” series, is generating Internet tweets and posts from fans who can’t wait to see the parade of new movie icons that appear in the franchise. Stephenie Meyer, a Mormon, wrote the best-selling novels, which were transformed into screenplays that have captured the imagination of tweens, teens, and even adults. A number of critics, however, have expressed discomfort with some of the values that are found in the “Twilight” stories.

Bella’s marriage to Edward has traditional romantic aspects, particularly when it comes to the notion of nuptials lasting forever. She stays away from alcohol and cigarettes and also chooses to avoid coffee and tea, just like the author who created her. When abortion is suggested because Bella’s child is half vamp, she summarily rejects the idea. She often engages in traditional domestic roles such as preparing meals and cleaning, which undoubtedly tweaks feminist extremists. [more...]

‘Toy Story 3′ Has Strong Conservative Message

By James Hirsen

Hold on tight to your flag pins, folks. “Toy Story 3,” the No. 1 film of the weekend, the most successful flick from one the most consistently successful outfits, Pixar, has a surprisingly strong conservative message.  The toys’ owner, Andy (John Morris), is now 18 years old. He has a whole new slate of fun stuff to play with including video games and an electric guitar. Andy stores the toys he used to play with in a chest full of discards in his room. Because he’s about to go off to college, the toys inadvertently end up being donated to a day care center. Unfortunately, it turns out that the Sunnyside Daycare Center has a very misleading name. It’s here where the plot pulls some themes from George Orwell’s “Animal Farm.” [more...]

Fix Education Spending For Kids Now Before Congress Opens the Spigot for the Adults

By Kyle Olson

Democrats and the teachers unions are trying every which way to pass a $23 billion “education jobs fund” bill, a bailout for our public schools.  The money would be used to ease the ever-increasing burden of employee retirement costs, health care increases and other benefits.  The spending has little if anything to do with children. But that hasn’t stopped the National Education Association from using children in its television advertising.  Kids are doing the dirty work for the adults because, of course, long-faced kids tugging at America’s heartstrings are much more impactful than a bunch of adults with their hands out. Obama’s Muslim Outreach

By Joy Tiz

For all of Obama’s obnoxious “outreach” to the Muslim World, as opposed to, say, the Christian World, the Jewish World, the Hindu World, the Buddhist World, or any other “world” that doesn’t want to kill us all, a recent Pew Poll shows that Muslim countries don’t think much of our commander in chief. While Pew assures us that the rest of the world loves Barack Obama – though the Brits would beg to differ – the “Muslim World” remains unimpressed. [more...]

Nevada Rated Tops for Business in USA… and California Dead Last

By Wayne Allyn Root
I am an economic refugee from California. I escaped to Nevada with my family, my business and my life a decade ago. It was either run for my life, or die trying. I escaped because of the impossible business climate – the highest income and business taxes in the country, the highest workers comp taxes, out of control government employee unions, the most lawyers in the country. It was (and is) a recipe for economic disaster. California had destroyed my ability to do business.  Nevada gives a small business owner a chance to live, to survive, to prosper. It’s called economic freedom. All small business owners want is for government to get out of the way and stop stealing our money. We can’t build a good business without the seed capital they are stealing. If the business actually works, we can’t expand without that money they are stealing. We can’t create jobs without that money they are stealing. It’s this simple – in Nevada we can build, survive, and prosper; in California we can’t. [more...]

Obama’s Gulf Crisis Response: Insanity Squared

By Wayne Allyn Root

As Ronald Reagan would say, “There you go again Obama.” Obama is trying to turn a tragedy and national emergency in the Gulf into an opportunity to pass yet another massive tax that will bury our economy. Does it ever end? Every single crisis is an opportunity to raise taxes, damage business, and redistribute the wealth. Now Obama is using the Gulf oil crisis to try to ram through “cap and trade” legislation that will greatly increase taxes and prices for all forms of energy but especially hit the middle and upper classes and business owners the hardest.

Has America picked up on a pattern yet? None of this has anything to do with the crisis. It’s all about a Marxist plan to overwhelm the system and redistribute the wealth. The crises are just Obama’s “opportunities.” They are his WEAPONS OF MASS DISTRACTION to provide cover for massive new taxes that take away money and power from the people – especially business owners – and hand it to big government, big unions, and Obama’s masses of voters (the poor, entitlement addicts, government employees – anyone that desperately needs government to survive). Housing, Oil, Freddie, Fanny & Spain – Add it Up!

By Bill Glynn

Now we all see the oil disaster and everyone is focused on the government failure and ongoing oil being spilled into the Gulf everyday.  BP for certain will pony up the money to settle lawsuits that will help stave off massive unemployment.  But the owners will get the majority of that while thousands of their employees will join the ranks of the unemployed – catastrophic to the economy. Not only is the government pandering Cap & Trade-type policies, it is also forcing the oil companies to put up billions into yet another government slush fund.  What do you think is going happen at the pumps? Gas prices will go up! Aggregating the issues that just keep on coming should drown out the pandering and publicity around positive signs for the economy but that would hurt consumer confidence, wouldn’t it?  The elections are coming – and the airwaves are going to be filled with anything that can be sold and pandered as positive news.  All the talking points will take individual metrics and beat the drums; but if we are not aggregating these issues, we will never see through the wool over our eyes. Go, Bobby, Go!

By Joy Tiz

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has finally had enough of Obama’s manifest incompetence dealing with the oil spill devastating his state’s economy. Jindal has ordered the National Guard to start building barrier walls in the middle of the ocean. Jindal, a Republican, has been begging the administration for equipment as well as permission to build barriers to protect the Louisiana coastline from complete devastation. As the president partied with Paul McCartney and Kelly Clarkson, respectively, Jindal was pleading with the federal government to live up to its responsibility. On Jindal’s orders, huge Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters are dropping sandbags into the ocean. Someone please tell Mr. Obama we said “Gulf coast” not “golf course.” [more...]

Hezbollah Endorses Helen Thomas

By Joy Tiz

Terror group Hezbollah has thrown its support to liberal icon, Helen Thomas, who shares their position on Israel.  Only liberals and terrorists refer to Thomas as either “respected” or a “journalist”: Hezbollah on Wednesday saluted veteran U.S. reporter Helen Thomas’s ‘courage’ for her controversial comments against Israel, which sparked a furor and forced her to retire. Respected American journalist Helen Thomas’s answer shows … a courageous, bold, honest and free opinion which expresses what people across the globe believe: that Israel is a racist state of murderers and thugs,’ Hezbollah MP Hussein Moussawi said in a statement. Anatomy of a Failing Presidency

By Tim Connolly

As referenced from American Thinkerby Geoffrey P. Hunt: “Barack Obama is on track to have the most spectacularly failed presidency since Woodrow Wilson.  In the modern era, we’ve seen several failed presidencies – led by Jimmy Carter and LBJ.  Failed presidents have one strong common trait – they are repudiated, in the vernacular, spat out. Of course, LBJ wisely took the exit ramp early, avoiding a shove into oncoming traffic by his own party.  Richard Nixon indeed resigned in disgrace, yet his reputation as a statesman has been partially restored by his triumphant overture to China.” [more...]

G.O.D. and Obama’s Rapid Deterioration

By John LeBoutillier

President Barack Obama – and his Presidency – are disappearing right in front of our eyes. The Gulf oil disaster (the acronym for that would be G.O.D. – and it’s almost as if God created this oil leak to show how mistaken the nation was to elect a man so unprepared to be president) – combined with his ham-handed way of dismissing the majority public opinion on health care, immigration and the economy, have taken this once “golden child” and reduced him to a polarizing incompetent scrambling to defend himself. The Matt Lauer TODAY SHOW interview is yet the latest example of Obama trying to be someone he’s not. The kicking “ass” statement was so contrived and scripted as to be laughable. Here was “no drama Obama” under fire for being his usual too-passive self. And he is so thin-skinned that he reacts to this criticism by pretending to be Clint Eastwood! Talk about not knowing yourself. [more...]

Is Radical the New Mainstream?
By Wayne Allyn Root

The question on national political experts’ minds Wednesday morning is, “Sharon who?” Sharon Angle was the winner of the Republican U.S. Senate primary in Nevada. Few on the national scene saw this coming. But I did. As a Nevada Reagan Libertarian, Tea Party activist, and national political commentator, I’ve said for months that in a “Tea Party year” anything is possible – including the election of a political outsider like Sharon Angle.

When the public is angry and wants blood, all bets are off.  In Sharon Angle’s case, the Tea Party movement gets 100% of the credit. Angle was languishing in third place in her U.S. Senate race until she received the endorsement of the Tea Party Express and The Club for Growth. After that, she moved up the polls like a rocket. She blew by the GOP establishment candidate Sue Lowden. Coming from 20+ points down, Angle won going away. This was not a year to be the establishment candidate – even if you are an ex-beauty queen, TV newscaster, and casino owner. Sharon Angle is a true fiscal conservative, limited government, anti-tax Tea Party candidate.  Just days ago, the Wall Street Journal described her views as “outside the mainstream.” Well, I’ve got news for the Wall Street Journalradical is the new mainstream.  Ask the Lt. Governor of South Carolina, who got 17% of the vote against an unknown female candidate (Nikki Haley) endorsed by Sarah Palin. The new mantra is V.E.T.O. – Vote Every one of Them Out! [more...]

Lincoln Beats Soros

By Joy Tiz

Blanche Lincoln beat the Soros-backed Bill Halter.  The union thugs and Soros-funded Moveon.org suffered a humiliating defeat.  Together, they couldn’t take down a washed up party hack.  Organized labor just blew $10 million. Lincoln should be easily beaten in November if Republicans force her to run on her voting record.  Democrats have figured out that Americans hate their agenda.  These newly minted phony small government tax cutters have to be called out on their actual track record.  In Lincoln’s case, for all of her gibbering about her independence, she voted as told by Harry Reid 89% of the time. If Arkansas is the new model, we can expect Democrats to continue to pretend they’ve never heard of Barack Obama and try to ride Bill Clinton’s shabby coattails. [more...]

John Boehner Demands Apology From Paul McCartney

By James Hirsen

Paul McCartney showed an astounding lack of class when, while being the first non-American to be awarded a Gershwin Prize, he hurled a cheap shot at former President George W. Bush. McCartney was at the Obama White House to receive his honor when he commented, “After the last eight years, it’s great to have a president who knows where the library is.” Now GOP Minority Leader John Boehner is demanding that Sir Paul publicly apologize for the dubious conduct, which to say the least is unbefitting a knight or a Beatle. Root is Elected to Libertarian National Committee

Wayne Allyn Root, 2008 Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee, was elected to the Libertarian National Committee on Sunday at the Libertarian National Convention in St Louis. Root was the leading vote-getter – finishing first among a field of 13 candidates, including former National Chairman Bill Redpath, Founder of the Libertarian Party David Nolan, former Presidential contender Mary Ruwart, and former Superior Court Judge James Gray. Root now joins the Board of “America’s Third Party” to provide leadership and management decisions through 2012.

Root said of his victory, “I am honored and humbled to have been the leading vote-getter out of a field of 13 candidates, that included the legends and celebrities of Libertarian politics. Now it’s time to move quickly to capitalize on the perfect moment in time for Libertarians, independents, fiscal conservatives, Tea Party activists, and any American voter looking for smaller government, dramatically reduced spending, lower taxes, fiscal responsibility and sanity. I will fight to turn the Libertarian Party into a ‘big tent’ for all of these voters. We must turn our party into a coalition of voters who will take back our country from big government, big unions, big corporations and corrupt incumbent politicians. Let the citizen revolution begin.”

Wayne Allyn Root is a regular guest on FOX News, a columnist at Newsmax.com and the Las Vegas Review Journal, as well as best-selling author of “The Conscience of a Libertarian.” For more information on Wayne, please visit: www.ROOTforAmerica.com.

Community Organizers Attack Israel

By Joy Tiz

In case you missed it the last few thousand times, it goes like this: use civilians to bait Israel into having to act in self-defense.  Then squeal like stuck pigs when Israel finally gets fed up and uses force to defend itself. Hamas uses civilians the same way liberals use “the children” – as cannon fodder. Israel and Egypt have imposed a blockade of Gaza to prevent weapons from reaching the jihadists who keep attacking Israeli civilians.  Despite what the Jurassic media claims, humanitarian relief is delivered to Gaza from Israel on a daily basis. Upon learning that the anti-Israel community organizer flotilla planned to crash the blockade, Israel directed the agitators to deliver their humanitarian aid to an Israeli port where it could be properly inspected for weapons before heading on to Gaza, which they defied, thus creating what the jihadi community calls a win-win for the bad guys. Charlie Sheen Headed for Jail

By James Hirsen

Charlie Sheen will spend time in a jail cell as part of a reported plea deal with prosecutors for an alleged Christmas Day domestic altercation with his wife, Brooke Mueller. The ‘Two and a Half Men’ star was arrested in Aspen, Colo., after an incident in which he allegedly brandished a knife. Earlier this year the actor had entered a not guilty plea to third-degree assault, menacing, and criminal mischief. A trial date has been set for July.

Sheen’s legal team has been engaged in behind-the-scenes talks with prosecutors in an attempt to obtain the shortest time behind bars for him, if he agrees to a guilty plea. Under the deal, he will plead guilty to a misdemeanor, which will likely place him in Aspen’s Pitkin County Jail for up to 45 days. The plea is expected be entered in court on June 7. It’s a safe bet that TV execs at CBS really care about the one big question: Will the star of the network’s #1 rated comedy be released in time to produce new shows for the fall season? Woman Suing Google for Bad Directions

By Tim Connolly

Lauren Rosenberg, a Los Angeles native, is suing Google for medical expenses and punitive damages because the search giant’s mapping tool told her to walk down a highway. Rosenberg, who followed directions to walk down a state highway with no sidewalk or pedestrian paths, was hit by a car. Her complaint filing: “As a direct and proximate cause of Defendant Google’s careless, reckless and negligent providing of unsafe directions, Plaintiff Lauren Rosenberg was led onto a dangerous highway and was thereby stricken by a motor vehicle, causing her to suffer sever permanent physical, emotional, and mental injuries, including pain and suffering.” A writer for PC World, while noting that Google Maps, when viewed on a computer, does come with a warning that the route it offers may be devoid of sidewalks, lays into Rosenberg. “This warning does not show up in PDA’s and cell phones,” she writes. “I suppose Google figured that people who are smart enough to use Blackberries are probably also smart enough to not walk directly into the middle of traffic.” [more...]
