The damage being done to the Republican Party by appearing to be opposed to Wall Street reform is considerable. This is not an example of Winning Strategies. While the GOP is in agreement on many items in the current bill, demagoguery from the White House is making the Republican party look like they are in the pockets of Wall Street. It is time to bring the bill up for debate now, and expose its many flaws to the American voter. Unfortunately, most Americans and Senators have not read the bill, but it has many provisions that will further erode our rights and expand the intrusion of government into our lives. Unprecedented: Arizona Governor Declares Crime Illegal

Disheartened Democrats, frustrated by their inability to find violence among Tea Partiers, have now turned their boundless supply of venom toward Arizona Governor Jan Brewer – sponsor of the new apartheid and facilitator of the next Holocaust – if one is mindless enough to take Democrat caterwauling seriously. Governor Brewer, whose state is literally under siege, took the bold step of signing a bill, which declares breaking the law to be illegal. The histrionics from the Left were inevitable.  Never known for originality, liberals operate on the quotidian ‘divide and conquer’ program.  Liberals relish assigning humans to groups, which they then anoint with special victim status for the purpose of being used in their destructive power schemes.  Leftist policies will never be accepted by free people if the people know what they are.  Liberals can only get their agenda through if they induce discord and chaos among the populace.  [more...]

For quite some time, Noam Chomsky has joined other radical luminaries on the “Editorial Advisory Group” of the ACORN-linked Social Policy magazine. Published by ACORN founder Wade Rathke, the magazine airs the views of Chomsky, Frances Fox Piven, Gloria Steinem, and Peter Dreier, among others. This is the same publication that ran an analytical piece on Barack Obama’s 2004 primary campaign for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate, written by a Chicago ACORN leader. The article contained such gems as: “By the time he ran for U.S. Senate, we were old friends.”  The point is not to bring up President Obama’s apparently forgotten memories, but instead to point out Chomsky is not some nut that is isolated – he runs with the big dogs. The new Pew Poll, which has found that a stunning 80% of the American people now distrust the government, is a window into a long-building political trend: the voters this November are furious at everybody but especially at the Democratic leadership of Obama/Pelosi/Reid. Thus, the inevitable outcome in the mid-term elections is going to be a historic thrashing of the “in” party – the Democrats. They are going to lose dozens of seats in the House (perhaps enough to lose control) and maybe 5-8 seats in the Senate, too. Make no mistake: the American people are ticked off at the GOP, too. But the Democrats are in power, so they will feel more of the wrath. Sarkozy’s Delivery of Polanski Plea to Obama Is Absurd

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has hand-delivered a letter to President Obama from fugitive director Roman Polanski. In the letter, Polanski evidently requests that Obama provide leniency in his case. During the recent Washington, D.C. summit on nuclear proliferation, Sarkozy slipped the letter from the Oscar winner and fugitive from justice to Obama, according to the French periodical, L’Express. The politics of a president’s going to bat for a person who admitted having unlawful sexual relations with a 13-year-old and subsequently fleeing the country is ill-advised to the point of absurdity. Sarkozy apparently assisted Polanski in gaining release from prison on $4.5 million bail and being placed under house arrest at Polanski’s Swiss chalet. [more...]

A federal court of appeals overturned Clinton-appointee Judge Nina Gershon’s ruling that claimed the government had the right and responsibility to fund ACORN. Thank God, in light of the latest antics from ACORN Chief Organizer Berth Lewis. While applauding the Young Democratic Socialists, she said, “Any group that says, ‘I’m young, I’m Democratic, and I’m a socialist,’ is all right with me.” I’m glad the real socialists, with the ear of our government, are finally standing up to be counted. The Tea Parties, which Lewis called a “bowel movement,” are bringing America into a phase that will surpass Jim Crow, McCarthyism and the Japanese internment camps of World War II. [more...]

Is a VAT Tax Back on the Table?

It has been reported that President Obama might consider a VAT (or Value-Added Tax) – essentially a National Sales Tax.  Recently, former Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volker brought up the topic of a VAT tax as a potential way to boost taxes.  But others thought much differently, including the U.S. Senate that voted overwhelmingly 85-13 last week in a non-binding resolution to state that a VAT “is a massive tax increase that will cripple families on fixed income and only further push back America’s economic recovery.”  After that Senate vote, it sounded like this bad idea would go away.  Now, we learn it might be back on the table.  What is a VAT tax?  What would a VAT tax really do to America and to our struggling economy? A VAT tax is a type of excise tax that works much like a National Sales Tax.  However, it’s actually worse than a sales tax.  A VAT tax charges a tax on a product at each stage of production, up to and including, the final sale to the consumer. Kelly Ripa’s Green Show’s Murky Roots

Kelly Ripa, morning talk show host and Regis Philbin sidekick, is working with Electrolux to host her first live Webcast in support of Earth Day and Global Green USA. The first episode is called “Green Idea Swap.” Up to $25,000 will be given by Electrolux to Global Green USA.
The following from the Global Green Web site is quite eye-opening: “Founded in 1994 by activist and philanthropist Diane Meyer Simon, Global Green is the American Arm of Green Cross International (GCI), which was created by President Mikhail S. Gorbachev to foster a global value shift toward a sustainable and secure future by reconnecting humanity with the environment.”

Gorbachev, the longtime environmental activist and former Soviet dictator, probably won’t be mentioned in the Ripa Internet show. The group’s mission includes “eliminating weapons of mass destruction that threaten lives and the environment…” WMDs are, of course, bad for the environment. But this type of language affords the organization the opportunity to meddle in international diplomacy, and tragically these days national security is on the line. [more...]

Ever on the lookout for an opportunity to restore his relevancy, Bill Clinton has joined the toxic choir on the left rabidly trying to equate the citizens in the tea party movement with deceased demented lone wolf Oklahoma bomber, Tim McVeigh. “Clinton marked the upcoming 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing on Friday with a major speech to the Center for American Progress, in which he warned that ‘the words we use really do matter, because there’s this vast echo chamber, and they go across space and they fall on the serious and the delirious alike. They fall on the connected and the unhinged alike.’” Of course, The Center for America Progress (CAP) is yet another tentacle of nefarious unrepentant Nazi collaborator, George Soros. The International Classification of Disease (ICD) is the coding system that is used to classify diseases. It is published by the WHO, and it is also the basis for reimbursement for hospitals and physicians. The mad rush to pass healthcare reform makes a lot of sense when this timetable is taken into consideration. It finally brings the U.S. healthcare system into the global healthcare system overseen by the WHO. The one size fits all approach takes away the importance of individualized medical care. Is Tina Fey secretly on the White House payroll? It seems that way, as she apparently continues to do the president’s comedic bidding. Just after Sarah Palin verbally slapped the president silly, Fey popped up on “SNL” with her tired Palin imitation. The former Alaska governor struck first while talking on the air to Sean Hannity, describing President Obama’s nuclear policy as being “like a child in a playground who says, ‘Punch me in the face, I’m not going to retaliate.’” The next day the president snipped back, “I really have no response to that. The last I checked, Sarah Palin is not much of an expert on nuclear issues.” Then later in the week Palin pummeled the prez again, referring to the “vast nuclear expertise he acquired as a community organizer, a part-time senator and a candidate for president.” With Sarah having the clear advantage in the nuclear barb exchange, Fey took to the “Saturday Night Live” stage dressed in black leather and for the umpteenth time mimicked the former GOP vice presidential candidate. SEIU heavy Andy Stern has often been quoted saying, “Workers of the world unite – it’s not just a slogan anymore.  It’s the way we’re gonna have to do our work.” According to the latest LM-2 financial report filed with the federal Department of Labor, Stern’s 2009 compensation totaled $306,388.  By comparison, the “Executive Secretary to the President,” Doris Butler, received a paltry $48,666. Another strong proponent of Marxist principles – in fact, the co-chair of the Democratic Socialists of America – SEIU Executive Vice President Eliseo Medina took home a cool $242,286.  Fellow frequent White House visitor and SEIU Secretary-Treasurer Anna Burger? $252,724. Is the Outlook for Jobs Very Bleak?

An opinion piece in The Wall Street Journal this week paints a very gloomy picture for jobs in America.  According to the article, at least one third of the 162,000 new jobs created in March were temporary census jobs and the actual new jobs created were insufficient to keep up with population growth.  In addition, the American economy has fallen behind by 11 million jobs since the start of this “Great Recession” and if job growth were to take off in the near future, it still might take up to eight years to catch up to where we were in 2007.  Finally, Americans with jobs are accepting lower pay and lower benefits just to keep their current jobs.  Is the outlook for jobs really this bleak?  More importantly, is there anything we can do to fix this situation? Is America for Sale?

Congressman Bart Stupak announced his retirement this morning. Really? I wonder what Obama, Reid and Pelosi (’The Axis of Taxes’) promised him in return for destroying his career? You think maybe millions of dollars for a cushy lobbyist job in D.C. for life? This is legal bribery. It’s what I predicted from day one. I believe that key Democratic votes for Obamacare were bought with promises of jobs for life from FOD (Friends of the Democratic Party). These so-called “friends” just happen to benefit from Obamacare and other big government programs… and of course they make big contributions to Obama. This is, in my opinion, fraud. This is how Obama passed the healthcare bill – by promising a win/win for every Democratic senator and congressmen. If they win reelection, all is fine and dandy and they keep their cushy jobs for life. If they lose, they get a huge raise from $175,000 per year (plus all they can steal under the table) to perhaps $1,000,000 per year as a lobbyist or a D.C. law firm partner. Crime Pays for Chicago Politicians

For Chicago politicians, committing a crime and doing time is apparently no problem. Being an ex-pol and/or ex-con has become a sort of a steppingstone to a brand new career in broadcasting. Back in 1996, then-Congressman and Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee Dan Rostenkowski pleaded guilty to charges of mail fraud and was fined and sentenced to 17 months in prison. Two years later a Fox affiliate, WFLD, put Rostenkowski on the air as a commentator. It was a sign of things to come. James Laski was a Chicago city clerk but ended up in the slammer for 11 months, due to corruption charges. That was back in 2008. A month from now, Laski will debut a new radio show, which will air weeknights on WGN, a prominent AM station in the Windy City. [more...]

Frum’s Folly

There has been much hullabaloo regarding David Frum’s recent statements that the passage of health care non-reform represents is largely a result of shortsighted GOP stubbornness.  The failure to stop ObamaCare is hardly the GOP’s Waterloo as Frum asserts.  It is, however, a major setback for the American people who overwhelmingly oppose this legislation and will have to live with the consequences. Mr. Frum has made some valid points regarding party and movement introspection, but to blame the passage of this legislation on elected officials who represented the will and interest of their constituents in opposition to those that did not seems quite odd.  Good governance aside, as a practical matter Republicans were shut out of policy discussions at almost every turn. Since the health care bill passed the Congress and was signed into law (two weeks ago), the President has simultaneously tried to win back independents (changing his position on off-shore oil drilling) and then lurched back to the Left with his (feel-good for the Left) decision to limit the potential use of nuclear weapons. But the real story is Obama’s approval rating has droppedfive points since the supposed triumph of the health care passage. The CBS poll shows his approval rating down to 44% – down from 49% right after he signed the health care bill. And in the generic ballot question: which party will you vote for in this fall’s congressional elections, Republicans have taken a one point lead over the Democrats for the first time in over three years. People who have watched a James Bond film or read an Ian Fleming book have heard of the U.K. spy agency MI5, the outfit that employed the fictional Bond, James Bond. The real MI5 is now firing some James Bond-generation agents because according to the agency they haven’t learned how to use social networking and other Internet technologies. The director-general of MI5 is concerned that the agency is being held back by older agents who don’t understand the world of computers. Just prior to Barack Obama announcing self-imposed conditions on, if and when America would use nuclear weapons, he made a North Carolina audience wilt under a 17-minute response to a fairly simple question. According to a rather humorous blog by the Washington Post’s Anne E. Kornblut, Obama meandered for 17 minutes and 2,500 words in response to a woman wondering if it was a “wise decision to add more taxes to us with the health care” reform.  “We are over-taxed as it is,” she stated. This really gets to the heart of America’s frustrations with Washington and politicians.  Just give us a direct answer! Project Vote has been accused of voter registrations fraud in more than a dozen states.  Its parent group, ACORN, along with a staff member, are scheduled to be tried for fraud in Nevada in a matter of days. It’s worth noting that Democrats have always been on the wrong side of civil rights.  The Ku Klux Klan was the creation of southern Democrats.  Some of us are growing weary of being charged with racism by the party that has a former Klansman serving in the senate. Blacks were abused in America, but not by conservatives.  The Communist Party, ever on the lookout for a group to exploit, has always cultivated interracial tension. The useful idiots on the Left rely on divide and conquer. Inciting racial antagonism contaminates the culture and destabilizes the country.  Racial harmony provides no advantage to liberals and ‘misery merchants.’  When liberals start howling about racism, the question that must always be asked is: who benefits?
